Featured Van: Singh’s LDV Deliver 9 Campervan Conversion

When Singh began planning his next campervan, he initially looked at the usual big names in campervan conversions NZ : the Mercedes Sprinter and the Ford Transit. Both offered space and features, but Singh had a different priority. As a rental fleet operator, he needed reliability, extended factory warranties, and a vehicle that could balance motorhome-level comfort with a short, easy-to-drive chassis.

That search led him to the LDV Deliver 9. Backed by a long manufacturer’s warranty and a strong value-for-money proposition, it proved the perfect base vehicle to create a fully equipped, green warrant-certified self-contained campervan for his fleet.

The Vision: Motorhome Comfort on a Manageable Chassis

Singh’s brief was clear:

  • Deliver a motorhome conversion that felt like a true small motorhome inside, but with the ease of driving a van

  • Prioritise comfort for longer rentals and trips

  • Keep the interior layout user-friendly for a wide range of travellers

The Rarawa layout was chosen as the foundation. From a rear lounge that transforms into a full-width bed, to an onboard shower, toilet, and well-equipped kitchen, the design packs everything needed for self-contained adventures into a practical footprint.

Standout Features of Singh’s LDV Deliver 9 Camper Conversion

Upgraded Gas System

A refined gas installation, fully compliant with NZ standards, ensures safe cooking and hot water on the road. This build also allowed us to prototype and streamline the gas system for future Deliver 9 camper conversions.

Edge-Banded Interior with Chrome Push Locks

Singh opted for an upgraded cabinetry finish. Edge-banded panels give the interior a sleek, modern feel, while chrome push locks on all cupboards and drawers add both durability and a refined look.

Commercial Wood Grain Vinyl Flooring

Built to withstand heavy use, the vinyl flooring not only looks professional but also stands up to the wear-and-tear of a conversion van built for rentals.

Dometic Windows All Around

A full set of double-glazed Dometic windows floods the interior with natural light and provides excellent cross-ventilation, making the space feel more like a motorhome conversion than a simple van fit-out.

Bathroom & Kitchen Facilities

This Deliver 9 build goes beyond the basics with a fully enclosed bathroom, including a shower and toilet, supported by a Truma hot water system. Truma’s compact and efficient water heater ensures renters enjoy proper hot showers, not just a quick rinse, bringing true motorhome comfort into a manageable campervan size.

The kitchen is equally practical, equipped with a two-burner hob, stainless sink, and plenty of storage for extended trips. Together, these features create a fully self-contained campervan that’s rental-ready and designed for real-world use.

Refinements & Efficiencies

As this was Vanlifer’s first Deliver 9 Rarawa build, extra time was invested in prototyping the gas system and fine-tuning cabinetry design. Those lessons now mean:

  • Future Deliver 9 builds will have shorter build times

  • Design tweaks will reduce material and upholstery costs

  • Water tank and shower door placements have been optimised for efficiency

These refinements are especially valuable for our rental fleet builds, where consistency, efficiency, and durability are key.
