What would I use a 12V relay for in a campervan?

Relays let a small switch, controller or sensor safely switch higher-current circuits such as lighting, water pumps, fans or heaters. They keep heavy current away from your switch panel wiring and allow smart control of multiple circuits.

What is the difference between a smart relay and a standard relay?

A standard relay simply switches on and off with its trigger signal. Projecta smart relays add features such as voltage sensing, timers and programmable logic, so circuits can switch automatically based on battery state or other conditions.

How do I choose the right relay rating?

Check the maximum current of the circuit you are switching and choose a relay rated comfortably above it, with correctly sized cable and a fuse protecting the circuit. Continuous loads should sit well below the relay's rated capacity.
