Only EPEVER/EP Solar Tracer BN and A Series MPPT controllers via the RJ45 port. It won't work with other brands or controller series.

Does the MT-50 need its own power supply?

No. It draws power through the same RJ45 cable used for data, so no separate power source is needed.

Can I extend the cable length?

Yes. Standard cable length is 2m but it can be extended up to 50m for remote mounting away from the controller.
