A simple, reliable latch that keeps cabinet doors and drawers firmly closed on corrugated roads. Push the button to release and pull — firm enough to hold during travel, easy enough to open with one hand. Used throughout Vanlifer's own workshop builds on overhead lockers, kitchen cabinet doors, and bathroom storage.

Benefits:
• Keeps cabinet doors and drawers closed during travel — no rattles, no spills.
• One-hand push-button release — quick and easy access when you need it.
• Compact design fits neatly inside cabinet frames without protruding.
• Suitable for overhead lockers, kitchen doors, wardrobe panels, and bathroom storage.
• Simple two-part installation — body to frame, strike plate to door.
• Durable construction handles years of daily van use.

Features:
The latch body mounts inside the cabinet frame on the fixed side, and the strike plate mounts on the moving door or drawer face. When the door closes it engages the latch automatically. Push the button to release. No tools required to operate. Suits cabinet face thicknesses of 16-19mm — standard for plywood and MDF van cabinetry. For drawers with heavy loads, pair with locking drawer slides for added security.

For drawers, also see the 800mm Lockable Drawer Slides. For small doors, the Mini Push Button Cupboard Catch is a handle-free alternative.

People are asking

Where is a locking drawer latch used in a van build?

A locking drawer latch is used on drawers and cabinet doors that don't have locking slide mechanisms — including overhead lockers, door-mounted storage, fridge surrounds, and any drawer not fitted with locking slides. It prevents doors and drawers from flying open on corrugated roads or during sharp cornering.

Is it easy to open with one hand?

Yes. The latch is designed for easy one-hand operation — push the button to release and pull the drawer or door open in one motion. It is firm enough to stay locked during travel but releases smoothly without force.

What thickness of cabinet face can it mount on?

The latch suits standard cabinet face thicknesses of 16-19mm — typical for plywood and MDF cabinetry used in van builds. It screws to the inside face of the cabinet and the strike plate mounts on the drawer or door. Contact us if you need it for thicker or thinner panels.
