A tough, no-nonsense 12V 100Ah AGM deep cycle battery built for campervan conversions and off-grid use. Sealed and maintenance-free, the Powertech V2 handles the vibration of New Zealand's roads and can be mounted in multiple orientations to suit your van layout. At 100Ah, it offers around 50Ah of usable capacity for overnight fridge and device use.

Benefits:
• Fully sealed AGM — no acid leaks, no maintenance, safe in any orientation.
• Reinforced plate structure prevents warping under heavy discharge loads.
• Handles high discharge currents without damage to internal plates.
• Multi-orientation mounting for flexible installation in tight spaces.
• Vibration-resistant — designed for the demands of regular road travel.
• Low self-discharge holds charge well during storage between trips.

Features:
The Powertech uses absorbent glass mat technology that immobilises the electrolyte, making it solid inside and genuinely leak-proof. Six reinforced lead plates deliver a true 12V output and resist warping under the kind of sustained discharge you get running a fridge on a hot summer day. Unlike cheaper batteries, these plates won't buckle, which is what causes early battery failure in AGM units. At 100Ah it's a practical single-battery starting point for a small to mid-sized van build, easily expandable by adding a second battery in parallel.

AGM batteries should not be discharged below 50% depth of discharge for best longevity.

Pair with the Projecta PM335C charging system. For maximum capacity, also see the CAMEC 120Ah AGM Battery.

People are asking

What is the difference between AGM and standard lead acid batteries?

AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries have the electrolyte absorbed into fibreglass matting rather than free liquid. This makes them completely sealed — no acid spills, no maintenance, no topping up. They also handle vibration better and can be mounted in multiple orientations. For campervan use, AGM is a significant upgrade over standard flooded lead acid batteries.

How long will the Powertech 100Ah battery run a 12V fridge?

With 50Ah of usable capacity (AGM should not go below 50% depth of discharge), a 12V compressor fridge drawing around 3-4A average will run for approximately 12-16 hours. Paired with a solar panel this can be extended significantly. For overnight plus full-day use without solar, two batteries in parallel or an upgrade to lithium is recommended.

Can I mount the Powertech battery on its side?

Yes. The AGM technology locks the electrolyte in place, so the battery can be mounted in multiple orientations including on its side. Upright is preferable for terminal access and longevity, but flexible mounting is one of the practical advantages of AGM over flooded lead acid in van builds.
