A seriously capable built-in fridge-freezer for campervan conversions. The Iceco BC85L uses an industry-leading Secop (Danfoss) compressor for whisper-quiet, efficient cooling — 77L of refrigerator space plus a dedicated 8L freezer compartment, all in a unit designed to slot into a standard van kitchen cavity.

Benefits:
• Secop (Danfoss) compressor — the same used in premium Dometic and ARB fridges.
• 77L fridge + 8L freezer running simultaneously from a single compressor.
• 12V or 24V DC operation — runs off your leisure battery or solar system.
• Low average draw (2-4A at 12V) — compatible with a single 120Ah battery and solar.
• Secure door latch prevents opening on corrugated roads.
• Interior LED light for easy nighttime access.

Features:
The BC85L is purpose-built for installation in campervan and motorhome kitchens. Multiple shelves and door racks make the most of the 77L fridge space, while the separate 8L freezer handles ice packs, frozen meat, and ice cream. Temperature is dial-adjustable for precise control. The Secop compressor runs at low noise and consumes minimal power — with a well-sized solar setup it will run indefinitely. Suitable for 12V or 24V systems, making it compatible with both van and motorhome builds.

Connect via your leisure battery system. Use a VSR or DC-DC charger to protect your starter battery.

Pair with the Projecta PM335C charging system for managed solar and alternator charging. For a portable alternative see the EcoFlow Delta 3.

People are asking

How much power does the Iceco BC85L draw on 12V?

The BC85L uses a Secop (Danfoss) compressor which is one of the most efficient in the industry. Average draw is typically 2-4A at 12V depending on ambient temperature and thermostat setting — roughly 30-60Wh per hour. In a moderate NZ climate with good insulation, a 120Ah AGM battery should run it for 15-20 hours without solar. With a solar setup, it will run indefinitely in good sun.

Can the Iceco BC85L be used as both a fridge and a freezer at the same time?

Yes. The BC85L has a separate 8L freezer compartment alongside the 77L fridge section. Both zones are cooled simultaneously by the single Secop compressor. The fridge section is temperature-adjustable separately, giving you fresh food in the main compartment and frozen goods or ice packs in the freezer — ideal for van life where both are often needed.

Does the Iceco BC85L work while driving?

Yes — it runs on 12V or 24V DC so it can draw power directly from your vehicle's leisure battery while driving. For best results, connect it to your house battery via a VSR or DC-DC charger rather than directly to your starter battery, to avoid draining your starter battery on long stationary stops.
