What is the difference between the Blue Smart IP65 5A and the 4A?

The 5A model charges slightly faster — suitable for batteries up to ~120Ah vs ~100Ah for the 4A. Both have identical IP65 rating, 7-stage algorithm, built-in Bluetooth, and battery chemistry support. For most 100Ah leisure batteries, either works well; for anything larger, the 5A or 10A model is more practical.

Is the Blue Smart IP65 safe to use in the rain or a wet garage?

Yes — IP65 means the charger is fully protected against dust (IP6X) and water jets from any direction (IPX5). It's safe to use in wet garages, outdoors, or in a boat bilge. The electronics are sealed against moisture ingress. This is one of the advantages of the IP65 range over the IP22 model, which requires a dry indoor environment.

Can I charge a lithium (LiFePO4) battery with the Blue Smart IP65 5A?

Yes — select the LiFePO4 preset in the VictronConnect app. The charger then uses the correct absorption voltage (typically 14.2V for 12V lithium) and stops at full charge without a float stage, which is the correct behaviour for lithium chemistry.
