The 4A output suits batteries up to about 100Ah for regular maintenance and charging. For faster charging of larger batteries, choose the 5A or 10A models. As a rule of thumb, your charger output should be at least 10% of your battery's Ah capacity for a reasonable charge time.

Can I leave the Blue Smart IP65 charger connected permanently?

Yes — the 7-stage algorithm includes a maintenance float mode that is safe for permanent connection. Once fully charged, the charger switches to a low-current float voltage that keeps the battery topped up without overcharging. This makes it ideal for seasonal storage of vehicles, boats or caravans. The M6/M8 Eyelet Connector (sold separately) makes permanent installation tidy and easy.

Is the Blue Smart IP65 suitable for lithium (LiFePO4) batteries?

Yes — select the Lithium (LiFePO4) preset in the VictronConnect app and the charger will use the correct charge voltages and algorithm for lithium chemistry. This is important: lithium batteries should not be charged with lead-acid profiles. The charger supports lithium battery capacities up to approximately 100Ah at this charge rate.
