What's the difference between the SmartSolar and BlueSolar MPPT controllers?

The Victron SmartSolar has built-in Bluetooth, so you can connect directly to the VictronConnect app on your phone without any dongle or additional hardware. The BlueSolar MPPT 100/15 is otherwise functionally identical but requires a VE.Direct Bluetooth dongle (sold separately) for app-based monitoring. If you want the simplest setup with no extra accessories, choose the SmartSolar.

How many solar panels can I run with the SmartSolar MPPT 100/20?

The 100/20 accepts up to 100V open-circuit PV voltage and outputs up to 20A of charge current. In a 12V system this suits approximately 290W of panels; in a 24V system up to 580W; in a 48V system up to 1160W. Is the SmartSolar MPPT 100/20 compatible with lithium batteries?

Yes — the SmartSolar 100/20 fully supports lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries alongside all lead-acid types. Configure the correct charge algorithm (absorption voltage, float voltage, charge current limit) via the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth.
