What’s the difference between BlueSolar and SmartSolar?

BlueSolar does not have built-in Bluetooth — you need to add the optional VE.Direct Bluetooth dongle for app monitoring. SmartSolar has Bluetooth built in. Performance and charging algorithms are identical.

What solar panel size does it suit?

Up to 200W at 12V or 400W at 24V. Maximum PV open-circuit voltage is 100V — check your panel’s Voc before connecting. A 100–200W panel is typical for a campervan roof installation.

Does it work with lithium batteries?

Yes — compatible with lithium (LiFePO4) and all common lead-acid battery types. Set the correct charge algorithm in VictronConnect for your battery type.

What is BatteryLife?

BatteryLife is Victron’s intelligent algorithm that attempts a full 100% recharge every day. If it can’t due to poor weather, it gradually raises the load-disconnect voltage to protect the battery from repeated deep discharge — significantly extending battery lifespan.

Can it revive a completely flat battery?

Yes — provided the battery cells aren’t permanently damaged. The BlueSolar can begin charging with a battery voltage as low as 0V, making it capable of recovering deeply discharged batteries.
