Get the maximum power out of your solar panels. The Victron BlueSolar MPPT 100/15 uses ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking to extract every watt your panels can deliver — up to 30% more than a PWM controller in changing light conditions — while protecting your battery with intelligent charging algorithms.

Benefits:

• Ultra-fast MPPT — up to 30% more harvest than PWM in cloudy conditions

• 12V and 24V compatible — auto-detects battery voltage

• 15A charge current — suits panels up to 200W at 12V or 400W at 24V

• BatteryLife algorithm actively extends battery lifespan

• Load output with disconnect voltage — prevents over-discharge

• VE.Direct port for monitoring via app (Bluetooth dongle sold separately)

• IP65 electronics, compact 100×113×40mm, 0.5kg

Features:

The BlueSolar MPPT 100/15 constantly adjusts in microseconds to track the maximum power point of your solar panels, delivering the best balance of voltage and current regardless of cloud cover. Unlike cheaper PWM controllers, it harvests significantly more energy in variable light — the difference is most noticeable on overcast NZ days. Compatible with lithium (LiFePO4) and all lead-acid battery types. The load output terminal lets you connect DC loads directly with battery protection built in. Connect a VE.Direct Bluetooth dongle (sold separately) to monitor real-time solar input, battery voltage and charge state from the free VictronConnect app. For internet-based remote monitoring, connect a GX device and use Victron's free VRM portal. Frequently Asked Questions

What is MPPT and why is it better than PWM for campervan solar?

MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controllers continuously adjust their input voltage to find your solar panel's most efficient operating point, converting surplus voltage into additional charge current. In the variable light conditions typical in New Zealand and Australia — frequent cloud cover, morning shade, partial panel shading — an MPPT controller like the Victron BlueSolar can harvest 20–30% more energy than a PWM controller. This makes a real, measurable difference to how quickly your leisure battery charges each day.

How many solar panels can I connect to the BlueSolar MPPT 100/15?

The 100/15 accepts a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 100V and a maximum charge current of 15A. This suits approximately 200W of panels in a 12V system, or up to 400W in a 24V system. For larger solar arrays, see the SmartSolar MPPT 100/20 (20A) or SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 (30A).

Does the BlueSolar MPPT 100/15 work with lithium (LiFePO4) batteries?

Yes — it supports lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries as well as all lead-acid types (AGM, gel, flooded). Lithium charge parameters are configured via a VE.Direct Bluetooth dongle (sold separately) and the free VictronConnect app. For a complete lithium campervan power setup, see our lithium battery upgrade installation service.

Do I need Bluetooth to use the BlueSolar MPPT 100/15?

No — it works fully out of the box without any app or dongle. The VE.Direct port allows optional connection of a Bluetooth Smart dongle for smartphone monitoring and configuration. The key difference from the SmartSolar range is that SmartSolar has Bluetooth built in, so no dongle is required.

People are asking

What’s the difference between BlueSolar and SmartSolar?

BlueSolar does not have built-in Bluetooth — you need to add the optional VE.Direct Bluetooth dongle for app monitoring. SmartSolar has Bluetooth built in. Performance and charging algorithms are identical.

What solar panel size does it suit?

Up to 200W at 12V or 400W at 24V. Maximum PV open-circuit voltage is 100V — check your panel’s Voc before connecting. A 100–200W panel is typical for a campervan roof installation.

Does it work with lithium batteries?

Yes — compatible with lithium (LiFePO4) and all common lead-acid battery types. Set the correct charge algorithm in VictronConnect for your battery type.

What is BatteryLife?

BatteryLife is Victron’s intelligent algorithm that attempts a full 100% recharge every day. If it can’t due to poor weather, it gradually raises the load-disconnect voltage to protect the battery from repeated deep discharge — significantly extending battery lifespan.

Can it revive a completely flat battery?

Yes — provided the battery cells aren’t permanently damaged. The BlueSolar can begin charging with a battery voltage as low as 0V, making it capable of recovering deeply discharged batteries.
